1 1 1300 1430 From 58th AIB to CCR: At 0600 this morning a Polish man came to "B" Co. and said that he knew where three Germans soldiers were sleeping in a barn. He guided a squad of men, under Lt. Legreid to the area covered by grid square 6661. No one was around in the barn, but as the squad proceeded along a road, they came upon a German Officer. They ordered him to call his men out of the woods and surrender. The squad was fired upon before the Officer answered. In the ensuing fight, one of our men was killed, and one was critically wounded. The German Officer and three German soldiers were killed. Lt. Legried estimated that 50 Germans were involved and returned for assistance. Capt. Elias and Lt. Bishop returned to the scene with two platoons and thoroughly searched the area, but they did not locate any more enemy soldiers. Five civilians were found however, who were carrying food to the soldiers. They were arrested and are being held for trial. Also 20 woodchoppers were found in the area without passes. They would give no information about German soldiers in the vicinity and have also been arrested. (This message sent to G-2).
1 2 1305 1500 From 58th AIB to CCR: Powder plant in Munchshof blew up at 1045. Utilities Officer ROSSELET killed and driver was injured. 2 more GI's seriously injured. Either Lt. ROSSELET or driver had a cigarette. Several civilians injured. Explosion left hot wires on the road and area. Advised them, Burgomeisters job to repair.Sent to G-2).
1 3 1120   From G-2 to CCR: Civilians report Burgomeister of BUNTENBACK at (C7958) is supplying German Officers and soldiers with food, clothing and newspapers. Request you investigate.

2 3 1135   From G-4 to S-2: Official report from higher headquarters states DOENITZ is in contact with Allied Officials arranging for surrender of German troops in HOLLAND, DENMARK, and along BALTIC This is a total of approximately 41 Divisions. No mention made of troops in Norway or Czechoslovakia.
3   1705   From G2 to S2: Information from higher headquarters states all German forces between WESSER RIVER and ELBE RIVER and TRAUBE CANAL has surrendered with approval of DOENITZ. Forces in Denmark, troops west of the WESSER RIVER and in HOLLAND were not included. Indications are that more may follow.

1 11 1100   From 80th Tk Bn to CCR: Can we get some changes on censorship? Can targets which are on RRs be guarded by civilian RR employees? Has the term "target" changed its meaning since V-E Day?
2     1127 CCR to 80th Tk Bn: No change in censorship; allied guards must be maintained on all installations; no change in targets.
1 12   1050 CCR to 58 AIB: CIC recommends replacement of present major, Karl Speckals of OBERNFELD and Albert Struber of BILSHAUSEN due to long party membership.
1 17 1125 1200 G-2 to CCR: Information has been received at this headquarters that personnel hereafter may mention their specific location with this theater and may mail descriptive postcards of locality. Further details will be published at a later date. (Sent to all units)
2 17 1430   G2 to CCR: Enemy deserters and discharged soldiers, sailors and airmen who are taken in civvies will not be held as PWs unless armed or acting suspiciously.
1 21 1100 1115 G-2 to CCR: All censoring of mail will be discontinued. Units will retain censorship stamps. Base censorship will continue. (Sent to all units)
1 22 1130   G-2 to CCR: All packages will still be inspected and censored by the unit censor.
