Pilsen, Czech. Parade Pictures and Patton
These pictures are from both 8th Armored personnel and others who took pictures of parades in Pilsen and Klatovy, Czech. in the summer of 1945. Some were provided by Viktor Bedrnicek of the Czech Republic whose great-grandfather's hotel was used as an 8th Armored Division Rest Center established in Babylon, Czech. at the end of war. Some were taken by Lester Douris, Mess Sgt., C-58 and were supplied by his brother Charles. And others were provided by Dan Parmly, a tank restorer, from pictures he received from the Pilsen, CZ, archives. There were many parades during the summer of 1945 and I am not sure that the locations depicted on all the pictures are 100% accurate. The photos of Patton are provided by Jaroslav Kulhanek of Rokycany, Czech. Soldiers of 8AD were billeted in his parents home. Some photos were provided by Jirka Frybert of CZ. 27 Jan 2021
