COMMAND REPORT

I. RESULTS OF OPERATIONS:

II. COMBAT EFFICIENCY DURING THE PERIOD WAS VERY SATISFACTORY.

III. COMMENTS:

  a.   Assignment of Areas should follow old Kreis boundaries which tend toward better governing of an area. Such a procedure was not 'followed in the Hartz Mt. area; however, it was done in the Uslar area and the results proved quite satisfactory. The assignment of Military Government personnel to organizations and units should be greater in order to be adequate. The assignment of Military Government personnel to organizations and units should be greater in order to be adequate.

  b.   The assignment of Military Government personnel to organizations and units should be greater in order to be adequate.

  c.   Where Military Government personnel are not available special schools for Battalion and Company officers should be anticipated and conducted by Military Government qualified personnel.

  d.   An adequate number of Linguists and Interpreters should be assigned or attached to units having such a task as governing to perform.

  e.   In order for orientation to take the place it should have in men's interest, it must be timely and adequate. More information and factual data is necessary and wanting.

  e.   Recreation and athletics would be more effective in continuing high morale with the making of more facilities and equipment available.

  e.   If at all feasible, the mission and future of the Division should be given to the troops. Ignorance can be baffling and creates difficulties and poor morale results.
