1 Apr Sq less C Trp moved from vicinity Marl, Germany to vicinity Selm, and thence from there to Oelde, Germany.

2 Apr Sq less C Trp moved from vicinity Oelde to Delbruck and then reconnoitered on through Sande and Sennelager finding both abandoned. Upon reaching vicinity of Niehaus, about 1400, D Trp received fire from Niehaus. F Co was sent to reinforce D Trp with E Trp in support and a reconnaissance in force was made. After meeting heavy resistance from AT, flak, MG and small arms fire, CCB relieved the squadron.

3 Apr C Trp returned to Sq control. Sq departed from Delbruck on mission of making route & zone reconnaissance in the division zone south to the Ruhr river. Contact with enemy forces of considerable strength was gained in the vicinity of Westernkotten, Overhagen and Benninghauser.

4 Apr Sq established liaison with the 95th and 1st Inf Div; screened the flanks of the combat commands, captured Westernkotten and reconnoitered south to Mohne river line in CCA sector.

5 Apr Sq maintained screen on Mohne river along south flank of division, established liaison with the 1st, 83rd and 95th Inf Division and reconnoitered west to vicinity of Eckelhpoten where strong resistance was encountered.

6 Apr Sq maintained contact between the 95th Inf Div and CCB. Screened the south flank of the division; outposted the east flank of the 194th Gliderborne Regt and maintained liaison with the 4th Cavalry Group and the 1st Inf Div.

7 Apr Sq screened south flank of division; outposted Ruthen, screened flank of 194th Gliderborne Regt and cleared the area Echtrop, Theinngsen, Deiringesen and Elfsen.

8 Apr Sq reconnoitered west to Bremen and Ruhne where heavy resistance was encountered; held Ruthen, screened the left flank of 194th Gliderborne Regt.

9 Apr Sq less D Trp reconnoitered west to Holtum where resistance was encountered; screened left flank of division; and maintained liaison with 95th Inf Div.

10 Apr Sq less D Trp screened left flank of division; maintained liaison with 95th Inf Div and contact between CCR and CCB. A Trp captured the Mohne Talsperre Dam intact. (242210)

11 Apr Sq maintained screen along south flank of division.

12 Apr B Trp atched to CCB. Sq minus B Trp maintained screen along south flank of division until relieved by the 4th Cavalry Group.

13 Apr Sq less B Trp moved to and assembled in vicinity of Mawicke and then proceeded on towards Brunsweig, Germany 150 miles eastward.

14 Apr Sq less B Trp closed vicinity Schlagen, Germany (to northeast of Brunsweig) C Trp posted div route. A Trp asgd mission of outposting Wolfenbuttal and the Herman Goering Steel Works west of there.

15 Apr Sq less B Trp moved south to vicinity of Schladen, Vienenburg, and Gitter to screen south flank of division.

16 Apr A & D Trps made route rcn northeast and southeast to Elbe river. Remainder of Sq less B Trp maintained screen in assigned area.

17 Apr A Trp attached to CCA. Sq less A & B Trps moved north to vicinity of Wolfenbuttal where C Trp outposted the town, D Trp outposted the Herman Georing Steel works and E Trp and F Co outposted southern area of division.

18-19 Apr Sq less A & B Trps continued assigned missions. C Troop attached to CCB on 19 April.

20 Apr Sq less A, B, & C Trps relieved of all missions by elms of 2nd Armd Div and moved SE to vicinity Osterwieke.

21 Apr Sq less A, B, & C Trps reconnoitered to South towards Osterode on five routes. A, B, & C Trps returned to Sq control.

22 Apr Sq moved southwest to vicinity of Bilshausen, Germany with mission of relieving 1st Army elements in that vicinity and occupying and governing area bounded by Northeim, Norten, Duderstadt, Bartolfelde and Osterode.

23-27 Apr Sq occupied, governed, screened, and patrolled asgd area.

28 Apr Received mission to screen woods east of Falkenhagen for 275th F. A. Bn which reported 100-125 Germans were believed to be there. B Trp plus 2 plats of D Trp, plus 2 plats of E Trp plus 1 plat of F Co were used. One dugout with six (6) panzerfaust and some uniforms and a dump of 81mm mortar ammunition were found. Half the woods were screened. The remainder of the Sq continued patrolling and governing assigned area.

29 Apr B Trp completed mission of screening woods. Captured four Germans and found one dugout. Remainder of Squadron patrolled and governed assigned area.

30 Apr Sq continued patrolling and governing assigned area. One German Liaison plane was captured in a clearing at C618374.
