a. Organizational inspections were made at various times throughout the period concerning maintenance of vehicles, weapons, etc. Inspections were also made of sanitation within the battalion by Battalion Surgeon.

The difference in assigned personnel and effective strength of the battalion on various dates was due to men going to Paris and Brussels on Pass, men going on furlough to UK and US, battle casualties, reinforcements, men returned to duty hospitals, etc.
